Douglas Lemke counsels business owners, entrepreneurs and entities regarding their legal and business needs. Doug has in-house legal and senior executive management experience in financial services companies ranging in size from a few dozen employees to over 5,500 employees. He has been involved with companies in all stages of the business life-cycle. His background helps business owners identify and address complex legal issues in a practical fashion and with a focus on achieving the clients' business goals. Doug often acts as “in-house” counsel for companies that do not currently have a full time general counsel.
Doug has significant legal and business experience in corporate, finance, real estate and general business matters. His practice involves assisting owners with complex and everyday legal problems. His experience includes drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (such as warehouse lending facilities; buy/sell, licensing, brokerage, joint venture and services agreements); analyzing and recommending business structures; helping to organize, operate, buy and sell various businesses; assisting in resolving ownership disputes; drafting operating agreements and other corporate governing documents; handling residential and commercial real estate matters (including leases and distressed properties); and advising corporate officers and board members of fiduciary obligations. In addition, Doug has extensive experience in mortgage banking, licensing and regulatory compliance matters.
